Grow your own

Fresh ingredients for maximum flavour

There is nothing more flavoursome than fresh vegetables or salads picked at their best, straight from the garden or pot.  Not only do they retain all their taste but also maximise the retention of their nutrients, especially the water soluble vitamins we all need.

When to plant

Everything we grow has a planting and harvesting season relating to the area of the world in which we grow these foods.  Based on growing your own in the British Isles, general planting guidelines often suggest the following months.  Seed packets and local guidance from books and plantsmen will have more specific information relating to indoor or outdoor cultivation, area of the country, soil types, beds or pots and suchlike.

Hydroponics

Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without using soil, by feeding them on mineral nutrient salts dissolved in water.
